ofan policy update September 26, 2008

The Organic Trade Association and the Organic Agriculture and Products Education Institute in partnership with NCAT, home of the ATTRA project, the Organic Farming Research Foundation, and the Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service present Growing U.S. Organic Agriculture: Accessing the 2008 Farm Bill.

OFAN subscribers receive a special discount! Enter the promotional code "OFRF08" on the registration form.

This one day educational conference will take place November 12 at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. The conference is designed to help farmers, farmer organizations and cooperatives, extension service agents, state departments of agriculture, organic certifiers, organic processors, researchers, academics, and others learn how to access and utilize the funding allocated for organic agriculture in the 2008 Farm Bill. This is an opportunity to gather as a community, obtain the latest information and identify opportunities for action. The new organic provisions to be discussed include funding of research on organic agriculture, certification cost share, crop insurance, data collection, conversion programs, and funding of the National Organic Program.
