Now is the time to apply for the USDA Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). CSP rewards producers for practices and systems that protect the environment and natural resources and provides financial assistance to implement new conservation activities. By participating in CSP, you will receive financial rewards and incentives and help protect critical natural resources in your region.

Eligibility, Application Process, and Additional Resources

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), which administers the program, strongly encourages producers interested in CSP to complete a self-screening checklist to determine program eligibility for CSP. Eligible producers interested in 2010 contracts must submit the basic application to their local NRCS Service Center by June 25. Once the application is submitted, NRCS will walk you through the steps necessary to complete the enrollment process.

You can learn more about applying and find other helpful resources from NRCS and our partner organizations on our newly updated CSP Resource Page. We also updated our comprehensive list of Frequently Asked Questions about CSP and have a list of organizations assisting growers applying to conservation programs.

These pages will be updated with new information about CSP as we learn it so please visit them often.

If you have any questions, please contact Tracy Lerman, OFRF Policy Organizer, at tracy@ofrf.org or 831-426-6606 x 108.
