Organic Community Concert:
Adrienne Young at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center
The Santa Cruz area is home to a rich and growing community of organic farmers and product companies, organic farming advocates and people who just plain appreciate and support organic food and farming.
On July 24, 2007, OFRF was pleased to host an Organic Community Concert at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center with bluegrass artist Adrienne Young and band. The evening provided an opportunity for the Santa Cruz organic community to commingle and enjoy great music, food and friends.

At OFRF we spend a lot of our time working at a national level, so this event was a great opportunity to connect with our local food and agriculture community. Adrienne and the band played two amazing sets, while the crowd listened, danced, and enjoyed delicious food from Café Kuumbwa, including organic produce and desserts. We had a great turnout from area non-profits, organic companies, local farmers, and fans of Adrienne’s music. It was so much fun that we hope to make this year’s summer community concert an annual event! |
