We feasted on delicious fare prepared by coordinating chef John Mitchell, Donna Insalaco, Ron Boyd, Kimberly Alter, Charlie Ayers, Patti Dellamonica-Bauler and host chef Mark Dommen. It was a true celebration of another bountiful harvest, and one highlighted by our recognition of Dr. Eric Brennan, an organic farming researcher with the US Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service in Salinas, Calif.
Brennan is a former OFRF research grantee, and he told the group the Foundation provided him with more than simple financial support to conduct his research into organic cover crops.

Whole Foods Market co-hosted the event, as they have since 1993. Northern California Region Vice President Joe Rogoff said 2009 was an interesting year that has seen the organic industry continue to grow despite a challenging economy.
This year’s event grossed over $100,000 thanks to the great support and generosity of our sponsors, in-kind donors and attendees. Thank you to everyone who helped make this wonderful evening possible.
