OFRF and Farm Aid Celebrate
New England Organic Family Farmers
By all accounts it was a rollicking good time. Folk duo The David Wax Museum provided music. Farm Aid and the Organic Farming Research Foundation co-hosted. And more than 150 folks got together in Boston on Wednesday night, October 13, to celebrate New England’s Organic Family Farmers.
Many revelers were in the city for the Organic Summit and the Natural Products Expo East, two events presented by New Hope Natural Media.
A Boston-based band, The David Wax Museum is just back from the Newport Folk Festival and embarking on a national tour. The audience in Boston appreciated the music, which included a rhythmic jawbone accompaniment provided by band member Suz Slezak. Check out the sound.
Those attending reported tremendous fresh flavors from seafood, local organic produce; free-range, organic turkey; plus stuffing and squash, a great way to usher in the holiday season. Word is that several folks left the event with extra desserts wrapped in napkins and stuffed into purses and jacket pockets.
