OFRF invites organic research and education proposals
by November 18, 2010
The Organic Farming Research Foundation announces the availability of funding to support organic research and education/outreach projects in 2011. Thanks to a partnership with the Clif Bar Family Foundation, special funding is available for organic seed quality and crop breeding projects. Funding for projects in other topic areas is also available.
“We’re fortunate to have both special funding from Clif Bar and general grant funds available,” said Grants Program Director Jane Sooby. “This allows our grantmaking to be responsive to emerging issues that are important to organic producers.”
The next deadline for proposals is Thursday, November 18, 2010. OFRF now accepts proposals submitted electronically.
Since 1990, OFRF has awarded over 300 grants totaling more than $2.5 million. Final reports for each project highlighting the practical findings are posted on the OFRF website, ofrf.org.
Growers, researchers, and educators are encouraged to consider submitting proposals on any agricultural production, social, economic, or policy-related topic of concern to organic farmers and/or ranchers. Begin by reviewing the project proposal guidelines at Requests for Proposals. Contact Grants Program Director Sooby to learn more: email jane@ofrf.org, telephone 831-426-6606, ext. 107.
