In 1992, OFRF's competitive grants program was established to disburse research funds through a process of calling for proposals from the organic community. Between 1992 and 2005, OFRF funded 213 grants through our competitive grants program, totaling $1,299,635 disbursed. In 2005, OFRF evaluated the impact of our grantmaking program on farmers, research institutions, and the base of knowledge about organic production systems
