SUMMARY:Seeds of Success: Strategies for Identifying and Navigating Organic Markets
DESCRIPTION:This event has passed. Watch the recording below:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us to discuss and explore how experienced organic farmers navigate marketing challenges – Friday\, November 10th\n\n\nJoin us on Friday\, November 10th at 1pm ET/10am PT for Seeds of Success: Farmer to Farmer Networking Session where we address the #1 non-production challenge* identified by organic producers – ‘Finding and Developing Markets for Organic Products’. This event will be an engaging opportunity for farmers to come together\, ask questions and share strategies for overcoming their most pressing market-related challenges. This session will feature three women farmers that have creatively grown their markets for organic products: Amy Van Scoik – Frog Song Organics\, FL; Pam Mack\, L Marie LTD\, OH; and Anna Jones-Crabtree\, Vilicus Farms\, MT. \nThe farmer-presenters will each give a brief presentation sharing their experiences and providing insights into their approach and process\, followed by a facilitated Q&A session and breakout sessions to share ideas and opportunities.

SUMMARY:Farmers are researchers: Conducting your own on-farm research
DESCRIPTION:Farmers will learn about the benefits and the how’s of conducting on-farm research and about the new OFRF Farmer-led Trials Program.\n\n\nFarmers and ranchers conduct experiments all the time. They constantly test and modify new or improved ways to farm. In this webinar\, farmers will learn about adding a few scientific steps to their farm tests that can produce more reliable results that they can trust. OFRF is excited to present this workshop as part of the new OFRF Farmer-led Trials Program (FLT) and the accompanying publication Farmers Guide to On Farm Research. This workshop is the official launch of OFRF’s new program that will promote farmer-led innovations in organic farming. If you are an organic farmer or rancher\, or are in transition to organic and have a production question you’d like to test\, join us for this informative webinar and learn more about how this program can support farmers and ranchers like you in conducting practical\, on-farm research. \nWatch the recording:

SUMMARY:Seeds of Success: Farmer-Researcher Networking Session
DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn about successful farmer – researcher collaborations at our virtual Networking Session on October 25th\, 2pm EST.\n\n\nHave you ever wondered how to connect with a farmer or researcher to conduct on-farm research? This Researcher- Farmer Virtual Networking event will highlight the successes and challenges of engaging in farmer-researcher partnerships and focus on building positive outcomes for farmer and researcher collaboration in organic agriculture. \nJoin us on October 25th at 2pm ET for the first informal virtual networking event held via Zoom\, the Seeds of Success: Farmer-Researcher Networking Session. \nWe will be joined by four speakers that have participated in successful organic research projects funded by USDA NIFA. Two researchers: Julie Grossman and Eric Gallandt\, and their farmer collaborators\, Seth Kroeck and KaZoua Berry\, will share details on their experience and the process of engaging in on-farm research. \nThe session will begin with a brief introduction on USDA-NIFA organic programs and feature facilitated conversations on the topic of collaborative farmer-researcher projects that will support information sharing and identify possibilities for future research partnerships. \n \nFunding for this series is provided by a cooperative agreement between OFRF and USDA- NIFA to highlight research investments made through both OREI and ORG grant programs.
