Join OFRF Executive Director, Brise Tencer at the 2025 Organic Seed Growers Conference.

This gathering is an incredible opportunity to make new connections, share knowledge, and celebrate the collective power of the organic seed movement.

Friday, February 28th Brise will join other panelists for a session on “Organic and Seeds in the Farm Bill: How Does the Farm Bill Relate to the Needs for Organic Seed Growers.” Moderated by Cathleen McCluskey, of the Organic Seed Alliance, other panelists include Steve Etka, of the National Organic Coalition, and Kelli Case, of the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative.

This session will focus on the federal Farm Bill, and why the legislation matters to organic seed growers.  The panel will talk about “marker bills” and how they relate to the Farm Bill process, using Senator Tammy Baldwin’s Seeds and Breeds for the Future Act as an example of a marker bill endorsed by many organizational members of the Seeds and Breeds Coalition.  There will also be discussion of how priorities of the Native Farm Bill Coalition were incorporated into the bill, and led to the NFBC’s endorsement of the bill.
