Donations and Registering for Events

If you make a donation or register for a fundraising event, your information will be added to our donor list and database, and you will be contacted about other OFRF activities, news, and/or fundraising campaigns or events.

SSL technology is an industry standard that automatically encrypts data before it is sent to us. Along with this security, we ensure that such personal information is stored securely and is only available by certain qualified employees. Our donation page displays the Verisign Secure Site Seal to assure you that our web site is authentic and that all transactions are secured. The credit card information provided at the time of donation is used only to process your payment and will be not be used for any other purposes.

Conditions pertaining to all subscriptions

If you subscribe to OFRF’s email or regular mailing lists, you will be asked to submit complete contact information, including your name, email address, physical mailing address and phone number. However, you may choose to opt for email-only contact.

We may contact you by email with general program information and updates, an online newsletter, fundraising letters and information about upcoming events. You will receive informational updates and action alerts on farm policy issues pertaining to organic farming.

The additional information you provide is retained for internal tracking purposes and direct mailings. In the case advocacy alerts, your addresss information is important to match you to your congressional representatives, thereby ensuring that you are primarily sending messages to your designated elected officials. In other cases, we may use address information to identify to major funders the geographic distribution of our constituency.

If you have asked to be listed on our Press List, you will receive OFRF press releases and other materials pertinent to journalists and members of the media.

OFRF’s Internet Service Provider uses software that monitors IP addresses to analyze trends in traffic on our web site. OFRF also uses Google Analytics to track website traffic. Google Analytics uses a javascript to set a session cookie. Our ISP and Google Analytics gather aggregate information about visitors which is not linked to personally identifying information.
