The mission of the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) is to foster the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems. OFRF envisions a future where organic farming is the leading form of agriculture. Our goal is to broaden access to and involvement in our programs, working toward greater equity in our food and agriculture systems overall. Since its founding in 1990, OFRF has sponsored organic farming research, education, and outreach to support organic and transitioning farmers across North America. This work is complemented by efforts to share our findings with policymakers, agricultural institutions, and federal agencies to support broader change and advance the organic sector.
The Organic Farming Research Foundation is seeking a remote intern to work an average of 10-15 hours per week for ten weeks during the Spring 2024 semester (target start date is 2/5/24). This opportunity is intended to support historically underserved and represented students who are interested in exploring career pathways in the organic industry through paid internships.
The Partnerships and Communications Intern will support the development of partnership systems and content creation. They will assist in building a strong customer relationship management (CRM) system by gathering internal and external data to build a more robust platform for partnership management. They will also assist in the development of outreach materials related to increasing access to technical and financial assistance for organic and transitioning-to-organic farmers and identify opportunities for farmers and researchers to build community and network with each other. This internship may be altered depending on the candidate’s background and interests. The Partnerships and Communications Intern reports to the Partnerships and Development Director.
Starting pay is $15 per hour for undergraduate interns and $18 for graduate interns, not to exceed a total of $2,250/undergraduate or $2,700/graduate per semester. Interns are not eligible for benefits.
