Field Day at JL’s Organic Orchards

Join the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) for a field day at JL’s Organic Orchards in Zillah, WA, on June 9th at 10:00 AM PT, hosted by farmer Jeff Leach! This is the second event in OFRF’s four-part series for technical service providers looking to deepen their understanding of organic production, supported by WSARE (Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education).

This quarter’s focus is on organic pest management, and the field day is a fantastic opportunity to see these practices in action on a working organic farm. Jeff will lead a farm walk sharing his firsthand experience managing pests, diseases, and weeds organically — including how his approach differs from conventional neighbors and what challenges and solutions he’s encountered along the way. The event will run approximately 2 hours and include a brief introduction, a guided farm tour with open discussion, and a Q&A wrap-up. Whether you’re new to advising organic operations or looking to expand your knowledge, this is a welcoming, conversation-driven event designed with you in mind.
