LATEST ANNUAL REPORT

Organic farmers understand that thriving farms rely on holistic systems. Individual components—soils, water, microbes, animals, plants, insects, and farmers—work synergistically to keep a farm productive while protecting biodiversity and building the health of soil, animals, crops, farmworkers, and consumers.

If we zoom out from the farm level, we can see that the organic movement also has interrelated, integral components. The organic movement is also a holistic system, with elements at work everywhere from farm fields and forests to congressional offices in DC, on university farms, in industry meetings, in the minds of consumers, and at the desks of donors and supporters.

OFRF understands that each component of the movement is vital for the widespread adoption of organic practices and to meet the needs for food security, climate resilience, and conservation. We also understand that cooperation is what makes us strong. That is why 2023 was a year of growth—not just in staff, but in partnerships, programs, and scope.

There is much more to do in 2024 and beyond, but we are proud of the synergy and growth we all accomplished together in 2023, and we are thrilled to share this report with you.
