Conducting On-Farm Research: Takeaways from a Farmer-Led Trials Program at the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association Sustainable Agriculture Conference

The Farmer-Led Trials program, led by the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF), has spent the past three years empowering farmers to design and conduct on-farm research that addresses their most pressing questions. In this session at the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association Sustainable Agriculture Conference, Rebecca Champagne, OFRF Conservation Scientist, will guide participants step by step through the research trial process, share real-world examples from past farmers, and workshop ideas with attendees. She will also lead participants through an interactive walk-through of OFRF’s Organic Research Hub and discuss how to use this open-access tool. Whether your focus is soil health, pest management, or new practices, you’ll leave this session inspired and equipped to test solutions on your own farm!
