While you’ll find a plethora of resources in the category sections above, some of our resources just belong together. We’ve highlighted them for you in the following convenient collections. Dive in and explore.
Crop-livestock integration is a holistic system that integrates the production of cash crops and livestock on the same piece of land or within the same farming operation. While farms implementing crop-livestock integration can lower input costs and reap many benefits, this integration can also lead to increased complexity, especially for farmers who must adhere to National Organic Program rules and regulations. This series includes farmer stories, a video presentation, and factsheets on key topics, that include: The Benefits of Crop-Livestock Integration, Food Safety, Infrastructure, and Crop Rotations.
This collection includes resources to increase NRCS staff knowledge of organic production and its benefits, and demonstrate how they can better serve the needs of organic farmers and tailor conservation contracts to National Organic Program (NOP) standards and timelines, as well as a variety of resources to help farmers understand the conservation programs and financial and technical assistance that are available through NRCS.
In partnership with the Organic Farmers Association (OFA) and the National Organic Coalition (NOC) we have provided a series of interactive, virtual farmer-to-farmer networking sessions to growers across the country. These “Seeds of Success” events are designed to empower organic producers and transitioning farmers with engaging peer-to-peer conversation. Browse the collection for recorded webinars, and check our events page for upcoming live sessions.
